Follow The Tutorial: A Pop Of Color Or Just Blue Eyeshadow By Melisaa Alatore

A while back I did my first 'follow the tutorial' post and I enjoyed doing that so much that I decided to do it again. This time a more heavy look that's not something I'd wear out (even though I kind of want to). It's a super bright blue smokey eye look that looks really cool I think but it's just not me, I felt really weird with it. A little bit like a super hero even because the eyeshadow made me think off a mask. That doesn't take away from the fact that this look is just awesome and I love recreating it.

A blue smokey eye like this is something I never made or wore before and I don't think I'll start wearing it. I don't think blue is a colour that makes my eyes pop, they just blend in with the shades in my opinion. Still it looks really cool and if I ever decide to dress up like a mermaid this would be perfect.
The products replacements I used:
Makeup For Ever Ultra HD Foundation - Y255 // L'Oréal True Match Foundation - N1 Ivory Tarte Maracuja Concealer - light Sand // Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer - Light NARS Laguna Bronzer // Sleek Face Form Contouring And Blush Palette - Fair (bronzer) Tarte 12hr blush - Exposed // Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush - 120 Pink Rose Becca x Jaclyn Hill - Champagne Pop // TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Black Bean // HEMA Waterproof Eyeliner - 01 Black Makeup Geek eyeshadow - Nautica // Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow Collection - Nudes And Smoked (eight colour top row) Makeup Geek eyeshadow - Peacock // Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow Collection - Nudes And Smoked (tenth colour sixth row) Makeup Geek eyeshadow - Stealth // Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow Collection - Nudes And Smoked (fifth colour sixth row) Makeup Geek eyeshadow - Corrupt // Sleek i-Divine Palette - Storm (last colour bottom row) Benefit Roller Lash // Catrice Glam & Doll Volume Mascara MAC Creme D'Nude // MAC Creme Cup
I don't think my look is as pretty as the one Melissa Alatorre did but I still like how it turned out. I think mine is a little bit to winged out and I would have liked it to be more rounded but something things just don't go the way you want to. I could also have blended a little bit more, like always 'when you think you're done blending, blend some more' applies here. Also my left brow looks a bit wonky but everything else turned out great I think. I didn't apply false lashes because I just don't have any at the moment but they would have made the look complete I think. Now the blue is really overpowering and my lashes don't look as prominent as I'd want them to. I do think this look can be made more wearable. You could make a neutral look and just add the pop of color in your inner corners, then you'd have the color without the smokiness. Personally I think you should be able to wear everything out and if I'd see a person with a beautiful smoky blue eyelook on the train, I'd just think that person is really cool and edgy. For me this is more for parties or even Halloween.

Music I Listen To While Studying

I'm getting to the end of my first block of school this year and since I'm in the middle of finishing all my projects and studying for my tests, I thought it would be a good idea to show you what music I listen to when I do these things. I tend to put on an album, take a short break when the album is finished, put on another and repeat that throughout the days. This post will be short and sweet without a lot of text but I hope you like it nonetheless.

Personally I don't use Spotify that much, I have my music in my iTunes. Spotify is merely a tool I use to discover new music. For this playlist I just went through my iTunes and then made a Spotify list of the albums I listen to when I study. It's a long list but maybe you can find some albums you like as well, give it a listen and who knows.

Definitely let me know your favourite music because I'd love to discover new songs and albums.
Love,
E.

Catrice FALLosophy Lipstick

I've been a little bit MIA lately, I know but there's a perfectly good reason for that and I bet you all know what it is, school. I've been super busy with my studies lately and I just haven't had the time to write anything or test anything thoroughly. Also I my interest in makeup has gone a little bit low, I haven't been wearing makeup that much because I just didn't feel the need to. During the last few weeks that has changed back a little, I've been wearing lipstick and eyeliner again and I've also been buying some new goodies. One of those is the lipstick I'm showing you today (even though I should really get working on my final assignments this semester . This lipstick I'm talking about today is part of the new Catrice limited edition for the fall. The collection is called FALLosophy and even though the collection is gorgeous, this was the only product that spoke to me. There are thee soft lip colour lipsticks in the collection; Fabulous Fox-ia, Rustic Rose and the one I bought which is called Little Red Riding Hood. On the first photo you could already see the beautiful packaging. The lipstick is quite short (it's the shortest lipstick in my stash) and has pretty silver leaves on the lid. The lid closes magnetically and overall the lipstick looks and feels very luxurious.  Just like any other Catrice lipstick, the lipstick has the name of the brand engraved in it, I really love it when brands do this, looks so luxurious. On this photo the shade looks way more blue then in real life, it has a much more red undertone then you see here. The finish is very glossy and not really something I usually go for. I prefer matte shades but when it's done in a beautiful way like this (read not with chunks of glitter), I also really like shiny shades like this. I don't have a swatch photo for you today because I want to get this up and right now it's really dark outside so I cannot really make a nice photo but I'm sure you'll see this appear on my blog one way or another.

The Catrice FALLosophy Soft Lip Colours in the shade Little Red Riding Hood is available in stores right now and costs €4,59

I'm in love with this collection, no kidding. This is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. The palette is something I just have to have (unless the swatches are shit) and the lipsticks, blush and highlighter are also to die for. The Nail polishes also look stunning and the only thing I'm not excited about is the eyeliner, I have a feeling it will be gold and I just don't think I'll even use a gold eyeliner.

Treasure Trove by Catrice will be available in stores in January 2016.

Follow The Tutorial: Cara Delevinge Makeup Look Inspired By Monika Blunder

Today I have something a little bit different for you. Lately I've been really into following makeup tutorials and recreating those looks with my own products and brushes. That was exactly what I was doing this morning and I thought, why not post this? I photographed my look and here it is, my Cara Delevigne makeup look I made while following a tutorial by Monika Blunder.

This is the tutorial I followed, I used different products and tools but I tried to use products that are very similar in colour.  The only thing I did different is that I didn't use a foundation, I just didn't feel like it today. These are the product replacements I used.
Anastasia Pro Palette - Chocolate // Catrice Eyebrow Set
Marc Jacobs Brow Tamer // Essence Lash & Brow Gel Mascara
Laura Mercier Eye Basics - Wheat: // Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Base (review)
Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow - Almond // Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow Collection - Nudes And Smoked (third colour top row)
Anastasia Color Couture World Traveler Palette - Fudge // Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow Collection - Nudes And Smoked (third colour second row)
Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow - Taupe Brown // Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow Collection - Nudes And Smoked (second colour third row)
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara // Catrice Glam & Doll Volume Mascara
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer - Custard // Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer - Light
La Mer The Powder - Translucent // Catrice Transparant Mattifying Powder
NARS Bronzing Powder - Laguna // Maybelline Terre Indienne Bronzing Powder in 09 Golden Tropics (review)
Tom Ford Cheek Color - Love Lust // Essence Cinderella Blush - So This Is Love
Anastasia Liquid Lipstick - Bloodline // Catrice Ultimate Colour Lipstick - MATTador (review)
I went for the look with the red lips Monika did and I absolutely love it. Overall the look is quite heavy and more night appropriate but I would for sure wear this out during the day as well, I feel so fancy with this on my face. The smokey dark brown eyes are right up my alley and they look gorgeous with a red lip. My look turned out a little bit lighter then the one in the tutorial but I did that on purpose. My skin tone is much lighter then Melissa Allatore's (who's channel I've been loving lately) and I was afraid it would just look really weird. I love this all matt look and I will certainly wear this makeup more often this fall.

Love,
E
