Catrice: Longlasting Waterproof Eye Pencil

Hello my loves,

Recently Catrice came out with Eye Pencils that claim to be waterproof and long-lasting  Today I'm testing two of those pencil for you.
In total there eight colors.

  • 010 New Kids On The Black
  • 020 The World's Greytest
  • 030 Gold Shatterhand
  • 040 Karate With Bronze Lee
  • 050 Brown Town Girl
  • 060 Moss Undercover
  • 070 Blue Berrymore
  • 080 These Blues Are Made For Walking

When you pull at the back of the pencil, a sharpener comes out. Very useful  When you use a twist-up pencil a while you'll notice the tip gets stubby. With the sharpener you can make a beautiful point again.
I bought two of the eight pencils: '050 Brown Town Girl' and '070 Blue Berrymore'. 070 is a shimmery purple and 050 a matte brown color. They're both nicely pigmented and very precise.
On the first picture you see the swatches after they've been on my arm for 12 hours.
On the second picture you see them after my failed attempt to remove them with water. I finally got them off with a makeup remover on oil base. So there waterproof and long-lasting, just like Catrice promised.
Here's the look I made with the Brown Pencil.
Products I used:
Catrice: Absolute Eye Colour, Limited Edition Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties. C01 She's a Lady.
Catrice: Long-lasting Waterproof Eye Pencil. 050 Brown Town Girl.
Maybelline: The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara. Flared.

I'm a fan of these pencils and I'll definitely get more colors of these. I gravitate towards '040 Karate With Bruce Lee' and '080 These Blues Are Made For Walking' but I'm also curious of the other colors.

Smith's Rosebud Perfume CO: Lip Balm Minted Rose

Hello my loves,

Do you know that feeling? The feeling of chapped lips and no lipbalm around? That was the the problem I had last weekend when I was shopping. I went to Sephora and picked this up this lipbalm.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Rosebud lipbalm but I never tried one. When I finally had an excuse to buy a lipbalm (I have to many already) I saw my chance. I choose the minted rose one but they also had the original and one with strawberry.
The lipbalm comes in a little white tin. On the side of the lid are little red with blue roses. I think it looks very old school but therefore really cute.
When I bought this, I was in a desperate need of lipbalm. That's why it's already used on the pictures.
The balm is red and smells like mint with roses (no shit!). The mint takes the lead and the roses stay more in  the background.
On the first picture you see my super dry lips and on the second you see them with the Rosebud lipbalm. The last picture shows my lips the next morning. Do you see the difference between picture number one an picture number three? My lips are still a little chapped but considerably more hydrated.
Due to the mint, the lipbalm gives you a very tingly feeling. I heard that minty balm pump up your lips but I don't see that with this balm.
I really like this lipblam. I love the smell, I love the tingly feeling it gives my lips and it works amazing. The one thing I don't like about this is the packaging. The packaging is cute but unpractical  A stick would have been more convenient. It's not very hygienic to apply this with you fingers. But if you wash your hands first, there's nothing to worry about. However, I saw on their website the also have it in a tube.

Catrice: Absolute NUDE Eyeshadow Palette

Hello my loves,

A few weeks ago I gave you guys a preview with products that I was going to review. Today I'm review the last item of that post; the Catrice Absolute Nude Palette.
You've probably heard about the NAKED 1 + 2 palettes. Those were a huge success but a little bit expensive. Those have been out for a while now and finally the drugstore made a nude palette. Catrice brought this Absolute Nude palette to the stores. It has 6 colors and I have been using it almost everyday lately.
I think Catrice did a really goo job with the packaging. Really simple yet pretty. I love that the lid is clear, that way you can immediately see the colors. It´s a nice design.
Normally I don´t like the brushes that come with eyeshadows but this one I really like. I don´t use the sponge-side but the brush on the other side is amazing. Really soft and perfect for blending.
The palette holds 6 colors. Catrice didn't gave them names but I will describe them or you.

  1. Very light, soft, shimmery peachy beige.
  2. Soft pink.
  3. Bronze with a pink undertone
  4. Bronze with a golden undertone
  5. Dark brown with silver shimmer
  6. Dark brow with a taupe undertone a golden shimmer

Now the swatches:
WOW! I'm impressed, so much pigmentation. The colors are all warm and very wearable. My favorite is the third one, such a beautiful bronze color. Catrice did a really good job on this one, a lot of variation and beautiful colors.
On the picture above you see the shadow after I made a look with it. You can really see how amazing the quality is. There're almost no crumbly things. Well done Catrice.

How I made the look:

  1. Apply an eyeshadow base (Essence, I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base)
  2. Sweep the third color of the Absolute Nude Palette all over your lid.
  3. Use the first color as a highlight in you innercorner an don your browbone.
  4. Apply the fifth color in you crease and blend it all together.
  5. Use the last color as a liner for a natural look or use a bold eyeliner like I did. This gives your look more dimension and depth (Maybelline, Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner, 01 Black).
  6. Apply you favorite mascara (Maybelline, The Falsies Volum'Express Mascara, Flared).
And then..... The sun started shining. I already use the palette but I had to take pictures to show the beauty of it.
I'm very please with the palette and I'm using it on a daily basis in combination with another, brighter color. On the back the palette it says that is has a mix of matte and shimmery colors, but all the colors are shimmery. That's the one downside I could find.
This is 010 All The Nude and I genuinely hope they bring out more variations of it. Maybe one with just matte colors or an absolute color palette. That would be amazing.

The Catrice Absolute Nude Palette in 010 All the Nude is available at the drugstores for only € 4,99.

Catrice: BB Allround Foundation

Hello my loves,

I heard so many good thoughts about the catrice BB-cream. So many good one that I wanted to try it myself. I bought the color 020 Rosy Beige.
I've already tried some BB-creams (Garnier, Maybelline Dream Fresh BB). Both of the ones I've tried have I enjoyed and I hope this one is gonna be my favorite as well.

First I want to give Catrice a big complement for putting the BB-Cream in a box. A lot of drugstore brands don't do that. Products without a box could be used by everyone. In a box you're sure nobody used it. This BB-Cream promises to do 6 things.

  1. Balancing
  2. Correcting
  3. Protecting
  4. Illuminating
  5. Covering
  6. Moisturizing
Let's see if it can make up to this promises.
I love the packaging, the most BB-Creams I've tried had the most crappy packaging ever. The roducts leaked out of there like crazy. Due to the long tute that's prevented. The color of the tube is really classy as well, it looks a lot like the Dior Skin Nude BB-Cream. It has the same rosy-pink color as the Dior one.

On my hand the coverage isn't very great but on my face it's perfect. It gives me the coverage I need. I don't like that very masky/cakey look. I'm more a natural girl.

  1. Balancing: It promises to hydrate my skin and at the same time get rid of excess oil. At guess what.... It does it. It doesn't give me dry patches but it doesn't give a shiny skin as well. Just perfect.
  2. Correcting: As I said the packaging isn't the best but it's just enough. It does make my pores less visible and reduces my red areas. It also covers my sunspots.
  3. Protecting: The BB-Cream has a SPF-factor of 30. I'm not sure if it works because the sun doesn't shine yet in the Netherlands.
  4. Illuminating: It says on the packaging that it guaranties a glowy and silky skin. I don't really see this to be honest.
  5. Covering: It does cover up your blemishes, not in a cakey way, in a natural way.
  6. Moisturizing: I don't have the feeling it moisturizes my skin. But maybe that's because I don't have a really dry face-area.
My overall impression is really good. Most foundations/BB-Creams give me dry patches during the day, but not this one. It's perfect for me and that for only € 5,99. I can really recommend it.

February Beauty Favorites

Hello my loves,

Woops, I totally forgot to do my february favorites but better late then never right? It's time for the second favorites post of 2013.
Last month I had the products that I used daily, this month I will also incorporate some more outstanding products. Not for everyday use but still mega-favorites of mine.

  1. Catrice: Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette: 010 All Nude.
I promised a review about this and you will get it, don't worry. I already made pictures and have the palette in full use. The only problem is that I don't have time to make a look with it. I'm just really by at the moment. I've probably used this palette everyday in the last month. It's just so versatile. The colors a beautiful and the quality is amazing. Near upon a review.
  2. H&M: Body Scrub: Coconut Lime.
In October last year I wrote a review about this scrub but for some reason I barely used it. Last month I had a lot of trouble with the skin on my legs, I had weird red bumps on my legs. I scrubbed with this scrub and they disappeared. Since that shower I use this every week. It works great and smells delicious. I love coconut.
  3. HEMA: Blusher: 02 Blush Medium.
This is a blush from the 2012 Christmas collection and I never really used it because I wasn't a big fan of blush. In December I bought a blushbrush and forced myself to use blush. I started with a very soft blush by Rimmel (January favorites). A few weeks later I finally tried a brighter blush and I chose to use this one. It's the same idea as Nars 'Orgasm', a pink blush with golden shimmers. I don't own the Nars blush but I read reviews form Orgasm and I think there really comparable. The blush isn't bright when you apply it but due to it's buildability, you can make it as bright as you want.
  4. Biotherm: Nutrisource Lèvres.
I think I've tried a million lipproducts but nothing helps. My lips stay dry and chapped  That was until I found this one. This one works great. I put this on my lips before I go to bed and wake up with the softest lips in the world. This product has two disadvantages. It's pretty expensive and it smells awful  I can not remember how expensive it was but it certainly was not cheap.  It smells like a baby but not in a good way. I don't really know what's wrong with, I just don't know what.
  5. Catrice: Pure Chrome Eyeshadow: C02 Bombay Bauble.
This is the only eyeshadow I have from the Catrice 'Spectaculart' collection and I regret that. I wish I had bought more colors of this products because it's amazing. I was going to buy more of them but when I finally went, the collection was already replaced. Enough Whining for now. The eyeshadow that I do have is great. It's a very pretty metallic grey, perfect for smokey eyes. I doesn't crease and it stays all day long.
  6. Vera Wang: Princess.
I have a lot of perfume and my go to perfume is Gucci 'Glamorous Magnolia'. Until I discovered Vera Wang 'Princess'. I took this perfume with me to Berlin and fell in love with it (my friends too, they kept borrowing it). The Gucci perfume is very summery and Vera Wang is more wintery. Perfect for this time of the year.
  7. Rimmel London: Apocalips Lip Lacquer: 101 Celestial.
I didn't wore this constantly but I did wore it quite a lot. For me that's really special because I normally go for more neutral lips. It's just such a pretty colorr.

I hope you liked my february favorite. I will try to be earlier next month.
